About Purrecious Cat Rescue

Welcome to Purrecious 9 Lives Rescue, an amazing cat rescue located in Shawnee, Kansas! We are a non-profit organization devoted to cat  care and welfare. Our mission is to provide loving homes for cats who have been abandoned or neglected. Our dedicated team provides shelter and medical attention for cats in need until they can be adopted into purrmanent homes.

Purrecious 9 Lives Rescue’s Founder, Cindy Weber, has been rescuing community cats since 2005!  Active in KC Metro community cat rescue since 2013 with the first actual hands-on TNR! A feral momma and her two kittens, BowTie & Harley, all trapped within a week at the local domestic violence shelter where she volunteered.

About our name… Precious had a soul level connection with our Founder and she knew all future rescue projects would be done with her guidance from the Rainbow Bridge. Precious’ pictures adorn many of the pages.

We also offer cat sitting, consultations, partnerships in the rescue community, & advice on cat care, nutrition, behavior training, adoption tips, and more!

First Tiny Rescue

In May 2005 we brought the first life off the streets into safety, thus beginning our journey as cat rescuers. Qtip was our first cat rescue, named so because of his small size. His journey began on a neighborhood morning walk, when construction workers got my attention and told me they had unearthed a mother and her babies while digging the foundation of a new home.

Two of the babies were saved, but they had no idea what to do with them. Without hesitation I stepped in to assist, flagging down a community police officer to help.

The following day, I brought the only survivor home with me – he weighed just five ounces and had multiple injuries that required bottle feeding for several weeks.

Newborn Q Tip 2005

❝Hi, I’m Cindy! I’m so excited to turn my purrrsonal passion for community cat rescue into action.❞

Feral Momma

Feral Momma trapped Fall 2013 with her 2 babies and went to a wonderful barn home with daily care & many other cats!

Reunited Brothers

BowTie & Harley are reunited after trapping, neutering & recovery. Bonded babies are the purrrrrrrfect family members.

BowTie

Unfortunately Harley (b/w) passed away suddenly 5/16/19 in my arms from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. BowTie grieved with me, is now almost 10 years old & loves having kitty buddies.
